A French court has been hearing appeals from former interior minister Charles Pasqua and others convicted in a corruption scandal over arms sales to Angola. Pasqua, 83, is facing a one-year jail term. He has implicated several top political figures, including Jacques Chirac, who was President at the time of the affair. Twenty other defendants are also appealing their convictions handed down in 2009.
