The original drawing for the cover of The Ghost Tribe featuring the hugely popular character Lieutenant Blueberry is part of a lot of around 300 drawings and albums including works by other comic book artists such as Tintin creator Hergé and Enki Bilal.

The auction will also include Moebuis’ artwork from other Blueberry albums including Thunder of the West and Ballad for a Coffin, featuring Chihuahua Pearl and Red Neck.

And there is a Moebius signed artwork for the Silver Surfer books which paid homage to American comic book creators such as Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

For the first time in several years, a drawing from Herge’s Tintin album The Mysterious Star is also up for auction and is expected to fetch between 120,000 – 150,000 euros.

Moebius died aged-73 in Paris in March after a long-illness.
