France's Pirate Party raises its profile in legislative elections
Over 6,000 candidates stood in the first round of the France's legislative election: parties from the left and the right, environmentalists and... the Pirate Party. Born in Sweden, and growing in Germany, the Pirate Party is virtually unknown in France. And that's a large part of this campaign: the French Pirates fielded candidates in 101 legislative districts, to get the word out that they exist. RFI joined some of the candidates as last night's results came in.
