Europe's biggest Buddhist temple has opened just outside Paris. It's part of the Fo Guang Shan monastic order from Taiwan, one of the largest of the seven branches of Buddhism. The project is the fruit of work by a local Buddhist community in need of bigger premises and a mayor with a vision for the new face of laicité (secularism) in France.
