Facial hair and the fight for feminism in France

The French feminist group La Barbe is taking a unique approach to tackling sexism in France: by donning false beards and crashing everything from board meetings and political events - even the Cannes film festival - anywhere where men dominate.

 The beards, made out of fake fur in various colours, are meant to be a little corny and behind the times. 

They are supposed to represent an era when all men in power wore beards.

La Barbe says not much has changed since then in terms of how men think and behave in France.
