Ancelotti has flown his squad to the Qatari capital Doha during the Ligue 1's short winter break where he hopes to take advantage of the excellent sports facilities on offer and agreeable  weather conditions.

His transfer from Sao Paulo now complete, 20-year-old Lucas is accompanying the team for the first time. Hopes of what he may  bring to the team are high as PSG go after what would be just their third French league title and the first since 1996.

At the moment, PSG currently lead Ligue 1 on goal difference from the two other top French sides, Lyon and Marseille. There is growing anticipation over the upcoming showdown between the three for the title in 2013.

PSG's super rich Qatari owners were especially pro-active during the close-season break as the club topped the list of Europe's big spenders, bringing in star striker
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, in addition to Thiago Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Results until now have been promising, with PSG also securing a place in the knockout
stages of the Champions League as the top side in their group. They are set to commence their French Cup campaign against fifth-tier Arras on January 6.

The club skated on thin ice in Ligue 1 after winning just once in five games in November and December, but they have since regained momentum following a run of four consecutive wins.
