Horsemeat sales pick up in France in wake of lasagne scandal

France now consumes less than 300g of horsemeat per person per year, a fifth of the amount 30 years ago, but the recent horsemeat-for-beef scandal has triggered a rise in sales for France’s horsemeat butchers. Breeders at the Paris annual farm show are hoping the trend will last.
