France to join UN resolution on Syria humanitarian corridors
French foreign minister Laurent Fabius declared on monday that France would put its name to a new resolution to help channel humanitarian aid to Syrian civilians in besieged cities.

"It is absolutely scandalous that we have been talking for quite a time and that we continue to allow the population to starve everyday and so, in conjunction with other countries, we are going to put forward a resolution along these lines" Fabius told French radio station RTL.
The resolution has been drafted by Luxembourg, Jordan and Australia.
The french foreign minister said that "we want much stronger action on humanitarian aid and access to cities for medical supplies.”
Talks resumed today in Geneva today after a week-long break, between representatives of the Syrian regime and the opposition, in the presence of UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi.
According to the UN, 9.3 million syrian people - half of the population- need humanitarian aid.
On Sunday, in the city of Homs, several hundred civilians were evacuated from rebel-held areas in the first such operation for 20 months, amid some violence.
