Despite budget cuts, French public sector still attracts job seekers

In a bid to reduce France's economic deficit, the French government has announced a plan to make 50 billion euros worth of savings, much of it by slimming down public services. Another key measure, the Responsibility Pact, up for vote in parliament this week, will also be partly funded by cuts in public services. Faced with diminishing job prospects, in an industry that has never had the best reputation, why would anyone want to work for the French civil service? RFI went to the yearly public sector job fair to find out.
