Some 150 million passengers have taken the cross-Channel high-speed service since it was launched 20 years ago. But the company is resolutely looking to the future.

On Thursday it showed off the first of its state-of-the-art new fleet of trains at St Pancras International in London from where it currently runs to Paris and Brussels.

The new e320 trains, due to go into service at the end of 2015, can carry more passengers and travel up to 320 km/h, further cutting down travel times.

The new trains are key to the company’s ambitious plans for growth.

Eurostar will launch new routes from London to Marseille in May 2015 and London to Amsterdam at the end of 2016.
