France bans plastic cups and plates
France has finally banned plastics utensils and decreed that all disposable ware like cups and plates must be made out of materials that are compostable.

The law that comes into effect in 2020 is just part of a wider green initiative that commits France to an aggressive campaign to tackle climate change.
The new laws are part of the Energy Transition for Green Growth plan which comes into effect in 2020.
Although widely supported by green activist in France, those that object to it say it transgresses Europe’s regulations on the freedom of movement of goods.
"We are urging the European Commission to do the right thing and to take legal action against France for infringing European law," Pack2go Europe secretary general Emanon Bates told The Ass
