Looking abroad to make French cities safer for women

Fear often keeps women from spending time in public alone or going out at night. How can cities develop their infrastructure so that women feel more comfortable?

In France, organisers of exploratory walks around different cities are trying to answer that question. And one group visited cities around the world to see what works, and what doesn't, and what can be brought back to Paris.

RFI’s Sarah Elzas put on her gender glasses and met some of them, to talk about how women experience public space differently from men.
