The appeals court in Rennes said that Mario Miceli would be handed over to Italian authorities pending an appeal.

Miceli, 62, fled a six-year prison sentence and had been living under his own name in Arzon, a town perched on the Quiberon Bay, since 2018.

In January, a Milan appeals court convicted him on charges of association with criminals and extortion.
