Syria's exiled opposition leader calls for Damascus regime to defect

The new leader of Syria's exiled opposition has called on all members of the Damascus regime to defect. Abdel Basset Sayda, who was named at the weekend to lead the opposition Syrian National Council, said he would like to unite all factions in their opposition to the regime. RFI spoke to James Dorsey, of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore and asked about the new role the Kurds seem to be playing in the Middle East.
