Syria's Assad warned against chemical weapons amid reports of sarin preparations

Issued on:

The international community has warned Syria that the use of chemical weapons in the country's civil war will result in serious consequences. Nato Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said, at a meeting of the alliance in Brussels yesterday, the use of chemical weapons would be completely unacceptable. Reports suggest the Syrian government is mixing chemicals used to make sarin, a deadly nerve agent, to use against rebels.
