Obama to make first visit to Israel

Issued on:

US President Barack Obama has announced he'll travel to Israel for the first time since taking office in a bid to revive the peace process. The visit is being seen as a step towards moving past tensions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his first term. The leaders are expected to discuss Iran's nuclear programme, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and the conflict in Syria, says political analyst Robert Satloff.
