Meité takes 100 metres at Paris Diamond League

Ben Youssef Meité won the big race of this year's Meeting de Paris - the 100m - with a strong run that equalled the Côte d'Ivoire record. After finishing sixth over the distance at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Meité ran a superb time in the French capital of 9:96-seconds.

South Africa’s Akani Simbine, who finished fifth in Brazil, came in second with 10:00, whilst Dutchman Churandy Martina - eliminated in the heats at the Olympics - put in a season’s best effort to finish third.

France’s Jimmy Vicaut finished fifth and compatriot, Christophe Lemaitre, pulled out late because of a severe cold.
