The 650-person dinner will be prepared by chefs including Michel Troisgros, Frédéric Anton, Marc Haeberlin and Régis Marcon, as well as one of the US’s most famous chefs, Thomas Keller.

The proceeds will go to the French mission of heritage and culinary culture, the Mission française du patrimoine et des cultures alimentaires, to help fund a new culinary museum, the Cité de la gastronomie.

The dinner in the Galerie des Batailles follows a private visit to the Hall of Mirrors and the Magic Thrones in the royal apartments.

French food was added to Unesco’s list of world intangible heritage in November.
