Battling the weight of history as a female conductor

Some jobs stand out as stereotypically male or female. Construction workers tend to be men, preschool teachers tend to be women. But some professions that are dominated by one gender or another are not obvious, like conducting an orchestra. In France you can count female conductors on one hand. As part of our ongoing series of profiles of people in France working in gender-dominated professions, we meet a conductor who has fought sexism throughout her career.
