France considers teaching kids to code

Issued on:

School starts this week in France, and some students may be offered a new kind of course: computer programming. In an interview in July, the Education Minister said he would like coding to become an official part of the secondary school curriculum, and coding activities offered to primary school students as early as this school year. The new education minister has yet to say anything about the subject. Not all parents are in favour of their kids spending even more time in front of a computer. RFI reports on a school in Paris that's trying to convince them otherwise.
