The main rebel group in Sudan says that it is launching an offensive on North Kordofan state. The Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North has been fighting for two years in neighbouring South Kordofan. The SPLM-North also says it shelled the aiport in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan.
