Four killed in latest Acapulco drug violence

In the latest gang violence in Mexico, four men have been shot dead in the Pacific port city of Acapulco, while at least 18 others have been killed elsewhere. Over the last 10 days, more than 30 people have died in violent attacks in Acapulco.

A Canadian businessman was found dead after he disappeared there last week, while 20 Mexican tourists were allegedly abducted there a month ago.

Police found the bodies of four men aged around 18, all with multiple bullet wounds, on an Acapulco road. The Reforma daily said they died during a shootout.

Two other bodies with bullet wounds were also found near the beach resort.

Meanwhile, six male bodies were reportedly thrown from a moving vehicle in eastern Veracruz state.

More than 28,000 people have died nationwide in an eruption of violence blamed on feuding drug gangs since the launch of a military clampdown on organised crime in 2006.
